The Ultimate Maui Map: Everything We Loved (And Think You Will Too)
If you're planning a trip to Maui and want a curated list of must-see spots, epic eats, and hidden beaches—all wrapped into one easy-to-use Google Map—this is for you.
My partner Max (he’s a firefighter!) and I travel often while juggling our full-time jobs, so when we go somewhere, we like to keep things efficient but memorable. This Maui itinerary is built for people who want beautiful views, great food, and some adventure—but don’t want to waste hours researching or bouncing all over the island randomly.

Why We Stayed in Kihei
We based ourselves in Kihei, and I highly recommend it if you want a more relaxed, local feel. It's:
- Less touristy than Lahaina or Ka'anapali
- Way more affordable than staying in Wailea or the big resorts
- Just a short drive to Wailea if you want a fancy dinner, cocktails, or to crash a resort pool (not saying we did… but we did)
Plus, it’s centrally located on the island, so you're never too far from a good beach or your next shave ice stop.
Best Food & Coffee in Maui
- Coconut’s Fish Café (Kihei) – Famous for fish tacos and casual surf vibes
- Foodland (Kihei) – Great poke and orange chicken bowls on a budget
- Mama’s Fish House (Paia) – Oceanfront dining and next-level seafood. Book ahead!
- Monkeypod Kitchen (Wailea) – Craft cocktails + truffle fries = must
- The Cinnamon Roll Place (Kihei) – Gooey, massive cinnamon rolls that hit the spot
- Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice (Kihei) – Fluffy, flavorful, and worth the hype
- Maui Coffee Roasters (Kahului) – Our pre-Haleakalā cappuccino spot
- Kraken Coffee (Kihei) – Drive-thru coffee with creative drinks
Beaches & Scenic Spots
- Palauea Beach – Quiet and mellow with great sunset views
- Pa’ako Beach (Secret Cove) – Hidden and seriously photogenic
- Ho’okipa Beach Park – Come in the afternoon to see sea turtles!
- Haleakalā National Park – We did a sunset hike here and it was breathtaking (bring layers!)
Road to Hana Stops
- Twin Falls – Easy access waterfalls (Mile Marker 2)
- Waikamoi Ridge Trail – Short lush hike
- Ke’anae Peninsula – Scenic detour
- Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread – Worth the detour for fresh banana bread
- Waiʻanapanapa State Park – Black sand beach + sea caves
- Hana Farms – Smoothies and baked goods
- Pipiwai Trail – Hike through a bamboo forest to Waimoku Falls
Snorkeling & Tours
We did the Molokini Crater snorkel tour aboard the Malolo and LOVED it. Leaves from the Kihei boat ramp, super easy. Gorgeous coral, tons of fish and turtles, and really friendly guides.
